A United Pentecostal Church in Versailles, Missouri
Pastor thoughts:
Growing up in the 40's and 50's we were taught to be obedient to our parents and any adult authority. We understood if we were in trouble at school or at a friends home, we were in double trouble at home. The gear of Godly discipline was a "wall of protection" that stopped is from entertaining trouble. This fear was "respect" that was discipline into our DNA.
I never dreamed a policeman must walk our school halls to protect our students from undisciplined children.
When accidents, shootings and bomb threats occur, we must bring in psychologists to explain the "why it happened and how the students can cope." If there was Godly discipline at home and respect for authority, we could cross out self-esteem and put in self control, our children would be better off.
The Pentecostals of Versailles, 105 W. Cleveland in Versailles believe respect must be taught at home and then righteousness will prevail.
Another sign that "We're close than close" to the coming of our Lord for His Church.
